Four people were sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for illegal possession of ivory.

The Mufumbwe Subordinate Court sentenced a police officer, an immigration officer, and two others to five years imprisonment for illegal possession of ivory. This comes at a time when the government is emphasizing strict adherence to the law and putting an end to selective application of the law. These arrests prove that no one is above the law and that the government will hold everyone accountable for their actions.
