PPDA approves K315bn revised road contracts
Minister of Transport and Public Works has told parliament the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) has approved K315 billion devaluation-induced price adjustments for stalled road projects. And the approval of these contracts will see project resumption and see an implementation of the transport master plan
Lilongwe City Council upgrade and rehabilitation underway
About 19.3kilometers of road are undergoing a facelift with planned upgrade and rehabilitation using government funds while 4.5billion from RFA is for upgrading of 5.4kilometers of roads and rehabilitation.
Government commits to fund transport plan
The government has said it will commit necessary resources towards implementation of the National Transport Master Plan (NTMP). Minister of Transport, said the ministry will explore fuel levies and other road taxes to boost funding for the NTMP.
