Government launches the Agricultural Commercialization phase 2

The Government of Malawi with financial assistance from the World Bank is implementing the Agricultural Commercialization project whose aim includes increasing commercialization of agriculture value chain products. In November 2023, the government secured funds for AGCOM II worth $265 million

'Government expands TRADE program

The Malawi government together with the Directorate for  Rural Development will be extending the Transforming Agriculture Diversification Entrepreneurship program (TRADE) to four new districts namely Mzimba, Chikwawa, Phalombe, Ntcheu and Dowa with the aim of alligning with the nations vision of  Agriculture Commercialization and Productivity. Three interconnected components work together to implement the program: they support investments in the enabling environment, foster connections between smallholder farmers and commodity actors, and strengthen institutional development to improve knowledge management, local government authorities' capacity building, and program management.
