The Food Reserve Agency sends Director and 5 others on forced leave as audits intensify.
The Food Reserve Agency (FRA) of Zambia has placed executive director Mwansa Chamatete and five other senior staff members on forced leave to allow for an ongoing audit initiated by the Auditor General's office. The audit, which has been in progress since the previous year, necessitates that the FRA create a conducive environment for further investigation. In the interim, Justin Chuunka has been appointed to act as the executive director while Chamatete maintains he is on annual leave and has not been officially notified of his forced leave status.

“Zesco Ltd had been accumulating revenues from electricity sales in a securitized account from a power plant, Kafue Gorge Lower Power Station, that Chinese companies built and financed, and “unfortunately” transferred about $80 million from the account”, Secretary to the Treasury Felix Nkulukusa said.
