The Standing Committee on the Auditor-General (AG) has welcomed the Office of the Auditor General (AGSA) 's recovery and prevention of R3.47 billion in financial losses through the Material Irregularities (MIs) process.
The Office of the Auditor General (AGSA) has recovered and prevented R3.47 billion in financial losses through the Material Irregularities (MIs) processes.
The amended Public Audit Act introduced the concept of Material Irregularities (MIs) and expanded the Auditor General's powers to refer MIs to relevant bodies for investigation. The parliamentary standing committee on Auditor General has commended office of the AG for receiving a clean audit opinion, highlighting the importance of accountability and public sector performance.
